Above:  This picture is the Brodick Pipe Band in 1921 at the Brodick Highland Games.  Charlie Hendry,Wellintonia, and  Archie Currie, Rosaburn, are the only pipers named

Mr McCarfrae ( Below) competed in Highland Dancing and Piping Competitions and won many medals (Looks like he is wearing them in the below picture). He was living in Brodick Glencloy at the time of the 1871 census as Piper to the 12th Duke of Hamilton.  The census also stated he was a farmer of arable land. He died in 1876 in Brodick.
